USHUAIA

Also known as "World's End" due to its location at the bottom of this southernmost continent, this city is the capital of the Tierra Del Fuego province. It is surrounded by hills and lies on the banks of the famous Beagle Channel, giving you marvellous views of the bay.
The city is a starting point for visitors to the Antarctic and some of its main attractions include Tierra Del Fuego National Park and various sailing excursions on the Beagle Channel.
There is also a ski resort with great winter snow and a range of outdoor activities which can be enjoyed year-round.

How to get there

By Bus

The city of Ushuaia can only be reached by road via route National 3 and an obligatory stop in Chile is always required to its location across the Strait of Magellan.
Ushuaia has no bus terminal so arrivals and departures are made from the offices bus companies (all located in the center of the city).

By Plane

The International Airport of Ushuaia Malvinas Argentinas is located only 10 minutes (5 km) from downtown Ushuaia. Regular direct flights from Buenos Aires, El Calafate, Rio Gallegos and Trelew (high season only) operate here.

Due to the proximity of the airport to the city of Ushuaia is recommended to take a taxi to get to the lodge which should cost about U.S. $ 6. -.

The airport charges a departure tax of USD 7.-.

TREKKING LAGUNA ESMERALDA

Partida desde el hotel por vía terrestre (20 kms) hasta el valle Tierra Mayor. Desde el refugio Nunatak se inicia la caminata, atravesamos túrbales, centenarios bosques de Lengas y cohiues. La posibilidad de avistar zorros, cóndores y castores está siempre latente.

Nos encontramos en el corazón de la Reserva Natural y Paisajistica Tierra del Fuego, en la Laguna Perdida, el color de sus aguas y su ubicación geográfica en plena cordillera fueguina nos invita a detenernos, descansar y comer un lunch a orillas de la laguna. Finalmente emprendemos el regreso al refugio y posteriormente regresamos al hotel.

TREKKING & CANOAS EN EL PARQUE NACIONAL

Salida desde el hotel en minibús rumbo al Parque nacional, mas precisamente a Bahía Ensenada, donde disfrutaremos de hermosas vistas del Canal Beagle y emprendemos la caminata por la senda costera, 7 Kms. de recorrido nos permitirán conocer la variada flora y avifauna del Canal Beagle, como así también vestigios de antiguos asentamientos Yamanas. Luego de 3 hs de caminata accedemos al Lago Roca, reparador almuerzo caliente y comenzamos el paseo en daquis por el río Lapataia, este río nos acerca a nuestro objetivo, la bahía Lapataia en el Canal Beagle, precisamente donde culmina la Ruta Panamericana y el fin de la ruta Nac nº3.

Regreso a Ushuaia en mini bus.

Duración: 8/10 hs.

Horas de caminata: 3 hs.

Horas de canotaje: 1 1/2 hs.

TRAVESIA DE LOS LAGOS EN 4X4

Salida desde el Hotel por la mañana rumbo a los Lagos , la ruta 3 recorre parte de la cordillera fueguina y nos permite acceder al paso Garibaldi, punto panorámico que nos permite ver nuestros objetivos, los lagos Escondido y Fagnano, comenzamos el descenso y nos desviamos de la ruta 3 por antiguas huellas de leñadores, El Land Rover nos permite llegar a lugares donde el acceso seria imposible de otra manera, bosques, barro, piedras, el lago Fagnano nos sorprende con sus dimensiones y su increíble paisaje.

El ajetreado vadeo por la costa del lago culmina con un rico asado a orillas del Fagnano, mientras se prepara la comida realizamos una caminata por la zona.

Después de almorzar y recuperar energías la aventura continua en el lago Escondido, de menores dimensiones pero rodeado de un marco natural incomparable.

Preparamos las canoas, y a remar, la vista desde el agua nos sorprende. Poco más de cuarenta nos separan de la hostería Petrel, ubicada a orillas del lago, donde culmina la navegación y se emprende el regreso a Ushuaia.

AVISTAJE DE CASTORES

Salimos desde el hotel en minibús rumbo al valle Tierra Mayor, precisamente al refugio Nunatak, ubicado en lugar privilegiado y con vistas panorámicas de la cordillera Alvear, nos equipamos con botas de goma y comenzamos la caminata. La zona es el hábitat ideal para estos simpáticos animales y tendremos la posibilidad de recorrer varias castoreras con la seguridad de avistarlos en su estado más silvestre. Bebidas calientes acompañan el avistaje.

Luego del avistaje regresamos al acogedor refugio donde degustaremos una cena.

Regreso a Ushuaia.

CAMINATA EN ISLA MARTILLO / ESTANCIA HARBERTON

Siendo el punto de encuentro, nuestras oficinas en el muelle turístico de Ushuaia, nos dirigimos en nuestras modernos minibuses en dirección noreste a lo largo de las rutas Nacionales 3 & J, camino a la legendaria Estancia Harberton (la primera Estancia en la isla, fundada en 1886 por el misionero Anglicano Thomas Bridges, ubicada a 90 Km de Ushuaia, en el Canal Beagle).

Navegamos desde el muelle de Harberton hacia la Isla Martillo, paseo de 15 minutos, en una embarcación semirrígida (nave apta para navegación en la zona). En la isla, caminaremos durante 1 hora entre pingüinos Papúas y Magallánicos, siempre con un guía, experimentando una aventura única, sólo con nosotros!

Los pingüinos se establecen en la isla durante el verano, compartiendo el hábitat con otras aves, como skúas (su principal depredador), petreles, cormoranes, buitres y gaviotines sudamericanos.

ISLA GABLE Y PINGUINERA

Isla Gable es la excursión para los que llegan a Ushuaia en busca del fin del mundo. Lejos de las aglomeraciones turísticas y en medio del Canal Beagle, este lugar recomendado mundialmente de boca en boca, nos ofrece la naturaleza intacta y la historia en tiempo presente.

En esta excursión de todo el día el viajero pasea, navega, camina y descubre.
En un contexto que resume la historia y la variedad natural de Tierra del Fuego, se avistarán pingüinos. Nuestros guías, que disfrutan haciendo disfrutar, le explicarán detalles de las especies diferentes de aves, plantas y demás elementos del paisaje.

En la isla encontraremos restos dejados atrás por la civilización Yámana y por los primeros colonos, en un paisaje infinito y primordial, mágico y extremo. En medio de un silencio sólo perturbado por el viento y los pájaros, podremos experimentar la sensación de estar solos en el mundo.

ISLA GABLE Y PINGUINERA / CON CANOAS

Esta excursión de día completo lleva 16 pasajeros de paseo por tierra, a navegar, a caminar y a descubrir uno de los lugares más salvajes y hermosos del Canal Beagle.

Una vez en el río Lasiphashaj, con las botas de goma, los cubre pantalones y los chalecos salvavidas que les daremos, el grupo comienza con una aventura en canoas que los lleva río abajo hacia el mar. Ya en el Canal Beagle, enfilamos las canoas hacia la estancia. A lo largo del itinerario en el mar podremos encontrarnos con su vida silvestre: muchas aves marinas diferentes. Incluso no es inusual que encontrase con lobos marinos asoleándose en las islas minúsculas que marcan el camino a Puerto Harberton.

Luego de 2 horas en los rafts y de una parada corta en tierra firme, continuamos en un bote a motor en dirección a la isla Martillo, donde podremos avistar pingüinos en su sitio de cría. La navegación continúa en el bote a motor que nos lleva a conocer la atracción principal del día: la enorme Isla Gable, donde nos aguarda el almuerzo con un buen vino patagónico y agua mineral.

Después de un café, la caminata recorre esta isla maravillosa, por diques de castores, la costa marina y a través del bosque para alcanzar el bote que nos regresa a Harberton para tomar el bus que nos dejará de regreso en Ushuaia.

This six kilometer route allows you to observe the flora and wildlife as well as discovering traces of the area's ancient indigenous people, the Yamana. After 3 hours you will arrive at Lake Roca, where lunch will be served. After a picnic there is a canoe trip down the river Lapataia, which will take you to Lapataia in the Beagle Channel where the Panamerican Highway and the National Highway No. 3 end.

If the winds permits, land on one of the islands' bridges, where you can see the remains of giant shells and enjoy views of Chile and Argentina.


Next you can explore Les Eclaireurs, known as the "Lighthouse at the end of the world".

Arrive at Calafate, the capital of the glaciers and gateway to the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Upon arrival you will be taken to the hotel and have the rest of the day to relax or explore the city. You could also walk to Laguna Nimez in time for the beautiful Patagonian sunset.

Day 05 El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier

After breakfast you will start the full day excursion to Perito Moreno. In Glacier National Park, you will take the route along Lake Argentino where, 80km from El Calafate, the Perito Moreno is revealed by its 70m high walls of ice. Numerous walkways leading to the front of the glacier (there are approximately 5 km gateways) offer both a visual and audio experience, with each different view soundtracked by the constant ruptures and echoes of the iceberg. The tour also includes a short boat trip past the glacier.

You will return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 09 Ushuaia - Buenos Aires - Puerto Iguazu

Breakfast. Transfer to airport for flight to Puerto Iguazu (with a stop in Buenos Aires).

Upon arrival in Puerto Iguazu, you will be transferred to hotel where you will have the rest of the day free to enjoy the pool. In the evening you may visit the Three Borders Landmark, located in the tri-border area between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

Day 10 Puerto Iguazu, Excursion to Argentinian Falls

After breakfast, start the full day excursion with a trip to the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls. Explore the National Park by wandering its paths to take in the incredible views of 200 waterfalls. Lunch is at noon, after which you can take the optional Great Adventure tour that allows you to examine the falls up close, and even takes you underneath! In the afternoon, catch the train to the largest of the park's attractions, the Devil's Throat. In the afternoon you will be transferred to hotel.

Day 11 Puerto Iguazu, Excursion to Brazilian Falls / Buenos Aires

After breakfast, a half day excursion takes you to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls, where you will be treated to panoramic views of the falls visited the previous day. In the afternoon, you will be transferred in a regular service to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer to hotel (private service).

Day 01 Buenos Aires

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be transferred to your hotel before exploring the city at your own pace.

At night, try a typical Argentine dish in one of the many restaurants that the city has to offer.

Day 02 City Tour, Dinner and Tango Show

Breakfast. Our city tour provides an overview of the city and its attractions. During this three hour tour, you will visit Retiro, Avenida 9 de Julio (El Teatro Colon and Obelisco), the Center (Congress, Plaza de Mayo, Avenida de Mayo, Casa Rosada), Puerto Madero and San Telmo with stops in Recoleta (Cemetery and Plaza Francia) and La Boca (Caminito).

At night you will enjoy a delicious meal and a tango show, before being transferred to your hotel.

Day 03 Buenos Aires - Puerto Madryn, Patagonia

Breakfast, then transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Madryn.

After arriving at Trelew you will be transferred to your hotel in Puerto Madryn (67kilometros). Take part in any of the activities the city has to offer, or we recommend visiting the waterfront and trying any of the local restaurants.

Day 04 Valdes Peninsula Tour

After breakfast, begin the full day tour to Peninsula Valdes. From the quaint town of Puerto Piramide you can embark on a whale watching tour, after which you can make various stops at strategic points of the peninsula where you will observe sea lions, guanacos, penguins, orcas and other marine animals.

In the evening you will go back to the hotel.

Day 05 Punta Tombo, Patagonia.

After breakfast, you will start the full day excursion to Punta Tombo.

Located south of Puerto Madryn, Punta Tombo has the largest colony of Magellanic penguins in South America, with over 200,000 breeding pairs between September and February raising their young in this reserve. Walk amongst the penguins before making brief visits to Trelew and Gaiman on the return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Day 06 Puerto Madryn - El Calafate, Patagonia

Breakfast. Transfer to Trelew airport for flight to El Calafate. Arrive at Calafate, the capital of the glaciers and gateway to the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Upon arrival you will be taken to the hotel and have the rest of the day to relax or explore the city.

You could also walk to Laguna Nimez in time for the beautiful Patagonian sunset.

Day 07 El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier

After breakfast you will start the full day excursion to Perito Moreno. In Glacier National Park, you will take the route along Lake Argentino where, 80km from El Calafate, the Perito Moreno is revealed by its 70m high walls of ice. Numerous walkways leading to the front of the glacier (there are approximately 5 km gateways) offer both a visual and audio experience, with each different view soundtracked by the constant ruptures and echoes of the iceberg. The tour also includes a short boat trip past the glacier.

You will return to the hotel in the evening.

For the more adventurous, glacier hiking tours with Big Ice or Minitrekking are also available as an addition. For more information on these excursions, just ask!

Day 08 El Calafate, Patagonia

Free day. Ask us about optional excursions, we recommend taking a trip to Estancia Cristina.

Day 09 El Calafate - Ushuaia, Patagonia

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia.

Arrive in Ushuaia, the end of the world, and then transfer to your hotel.

Day 10 Ushuaia, Trekking and Canoeing in the Tierra del Fuego National Park

You will be collected at your hotel (shared service) and brought to the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Once in Ensenada Bay, you'll have time to enjoy the view over the Beagle Channel before starting the walk along the coast.

This six kilometer route allows you to observe the flora and wildlife as well as discovering traces of the area's ancient indigenous people, the Yamana. After 3 hours you will arrive at Lake Roca, where lunch will be served.

After a picnic there is a canoe trip down the river Lapataia, which will take you to Lapataia in the Beagle Channel where the Panamerican Highway and the National Highway No. 3 end.

  • Canoeing: 1 ½ hours.

Day 11 Ushuaia, Navigating the Beagle Channel

After breakfast, make your way to the tourist wharf where you will board a boat to sail through the Beagle Channel. The tour offers panoramic views of the city of Ushuaia, and of the diverse marine fauna, such as cormorants and sea lions and the islands of Lobo and De los Pajaros.

If the winds permits, land on one of the islands' bridges, where you can see the remains of giant shells and enjoy views of Chile and Argentina.

Next you can explore Les Eclaireurs, known as the "Lighthouse at the end of the world".

You will have to pay a local tax in the port of Us$ 4. -

Day 12 Ushuaia - Buenos Aires - Puerto Iguazu

Breakfast. Transfer to airport for flight to Puerto Iguazu (with a stop in Buenos Aires).

Upon arrival in Puerto Iguazu, you will be transferred to hotel where you will have the rest of the day free to enjoy the pool. In the evening you may visit the Three Borders Landmark, located in the tri-border area between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

Day 13 Puerto Iguazu, Excursion to Argentinian Falls

After breakfast, start the full day excursion with a trip to the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls. Explore the National Park by wandering its paths to take in the incredible views of 200 waterfalls. Lunch is at noon, after which you can take the optional Great Adventure tour that allows you to examine the falls up close, and even takes you underneath! In the afternoon, catch the train to the largest of the park's attractions, the Devil's Throat. In the afternoon you will be transferred to hotel.

Day 14 Puerto Iguazu, Excursion to Brazilian Falls / Buenos Aires

After breakfast, a half day excursion takes you to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls, where you will be treated to panoramic views of the falls visited the previous day. In the afternoon, you will be transferred in a regular service to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer to hotel (private service).

Breakfast. Make your own way to the bus station to go from El Calafate to El Chalten. This trip takes about 3 hours.

Upon arrival in El Chalten at noon, stop by the ranger's office to collect information about various walks and hikes available in the area.

Spend the night at the hotel or discover the town for yourself.

Day 07 El Chaltén, Patagonia.

Breakfast. Spend the day enjoying the numerous trails and paths at your own pace. We recommend taking the path that leads to the foot of Cerro Fitz Roy: Laguna Los Tres.

Day 08 El Chaltén - El Calafate, Patagonia.

Breakfast. You will again have time to explore the area in more depth at your own pace. This time, take the path that leads to the foot of Cerro Torre: Laguna & Glacier Torre. Take the bus back to El Calafate at 6pm to arrive back to Calafate at night. Make your own way to your hotel to rest.

Day 09 El Calafate - Ushuaia, Patagonia

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia.

Arrive in Ushuaia, the end of the world, and then transfer to your hotel.

Day 10 Ushuaia, Trekking and Canoeing in the Tierra del Fuego National Park

On this tour of one of South America's most important parks, you will discover the most beautiful and impressive landscapes in Patagonia, including Salto Grande, Laguna Amarga, Lago Pehoe, the Horns of Paine and the famous Torres del Paine. Get your camera ready to capture in the wild guanacos. The tour will stop at the hotel.

Day 10 Torres Del Paine.

Breakfast. Day free to enjoy any of the area's wonderful treks. We recommend trekking to the Base of the Towers.

Day 11 Torres del Paine - El Calafate.

After breakfast, you will take the bus back to El Calafate (afternoon departure from Laguna Amarga).

Where upon arrival you will go to your hotel.

Duration: 21 days / 20 nights.
Day 01 Buenos Aires

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be transferred to your hotel before exploring the city at your own pace.

At night, try a typical Argentine dish in one of the many restaurants that the city has to offer.

Day 02 City Tour, Dinner and Tango Show

Breakfast. Our city tour provides an overview of the city and its attractions. During this three hour tour, you will visit Retiro, Avenida 9 de Julio (El Teatro Colon and Obelisco), the Center (Congress, Plaza de Mayo, Avenida de Mayo, Casa Rosada), Puerto Madero and San Telmo with stops in Recoleta (Cemetery and Plaza Francia) and La Boca (Caminito).

At night you will enjoy a delicious meal and a tango show, before being transferred to your hotel.

Day 03 El Calafate / Ushuaia, Patagonia

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia.

Arrive in Ushuaia, the end of the world, and then transfer to your hotel.

Day 04 Ushuaia: Trekking and Canoeing in the Tierra del Fuego National Park

You will be collected at your hotel (shared service) and brought to the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Once in Ensenada Bay, you'll have time to enjoy the view over the Beagle Channel before starting the walk along the coast.

This six kilometer route allows you to observe the flora and wildlife as well as discovering traces of the area's ancient indigenous people, the Yamana. After 3 hours you will arrive at Lake Roca, where lunch will be served.

After a picnic there is a canoe trip down the river Lapataia, which will take you to Lapataia in the Beagle Channel where the Panamerican Highway and the National Highway No. 3 end.

  • Total duration: 8/10 hours.
  • Trail: 3 hours.
  • Canoeing: 1 ½ hours.

If this seems like too much of an adventure, let us know and we can offer a more traditional tour excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park, with an option to take the End of the World Train.

Day 05 Ushuaia / Navigating the Beagle Channel

After breakfast, make your way to the tourist wharf where you will board a boat to sail through the Beagle Channel. The tour offers panoramic views of the city of Ushuaia, and of the diverse marine fauna, such as cormorants and sea lions and the islands of Lobo and De los Pajaros.

If the winds permits, land on one of the islands' bridges, where you can see the remains of giant shells and enjoy views of Chile and Argentina.

Next you can explore Les Eclaireurs, known as the "Lighthouse at the end of the world".

You will have to pay a local tax in the port of Us$ 4. -

Duration: 3-4 hours.

Day 06 Ushuaia / El Calafate, Patagonia

Breakfast. Transfer to Trelew airport for your flight to El Calafate.

Arrive at Calafate, the capital of the glaciers and gateway to the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Upon arrival you will be taken to the hotel and have the rest of the day to relax or explore the city. You could also walk to Laguna Nimez in time for the beautiful Patagonian sunset.

Day 07 El Calafate / Perito Moreno Glacier

After breakfast you will start the full day excursion to Perito Moreno. In Glacier National Park, you will take the route along Lake Argentino where, 80km from El Calafate, the Perito Moreno is revealed by its 70m high walls of ice. Numerous walkways leading to the front of the glacier (there are approximately 5 km gateways) offer both a visual and audio experience, with each different view soundtracked by the constant ruptures and echoes of the iceberg. The tour also includes a short boat trip past the glacier.

You will return to the hotel in the evening.

Duration: 6 horas.

For the more adventurous, glacier hiking tours with Big Ice or Minitrekking are also available as an addition. For more information on these excursions, just ask!

Day 08 El Calafate, Patagonia

Free day. Ask us about optional excursions, we recommend taking a trip to Estancia Cristina.

Day 09 El Calafate to El Chaltén, Patagonia.

Breakfast. Make your own way to the bus station to go from El Calafate to El Chalten. This trip takes about 3 hours.

Upon arrival in El Chalten at noon, stop by the ranger's office to collect information about various walks and hikes available in the area.

Spend the night at the hotel or discover the town for yourself.

Day 10 El Chaltén, Patagonia.

Breakfast. Spend the day enjoying the numerous trails and paths at your own pace. We recommend taking the path that leads to the foot of Cerro Fitz Roy: Laguna Los Tres.

Day 11 El Chaltén to El Calafate, Patagonia.

Breakfast. You will again have time to explore the area in more depth at your own pace. This time, take the path that leads to the foot of Cerro Torre: Laguna & Glacier Torre. Take the bus back to El Calafate at 6pm to arrive back to Calafate at night. Make your own way to your hotel to rest.

Day 12 El Calafate / Torres del Paine.

Early in the morning, you will begin a full day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park. On this tour of one of South America's most important parks, you will discover the most beautiful and impressive landscapes in Patagonia, including Salto Grande, Laguna Amarga, Lago Pehoe, the Horns of Paine and the famous Torres del Paine. Get your camera ready to capture in the wild guanacos. The tour will stop at the hotel.

Day 13 Torres Del Paine.

Breakfast. Day free to enjoy any of the area's wonderful treks. We recommend trekking to the Base of the Towers.

Day 14 Torres del Paine / El Calafate.

After breakfast, you will take the bus back to El Calafate (afternoon departure from Laguna Amarga).

Where upon arrival you will go to your hotel.

Day 15 El Calafate / Bariloche.

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Bariloche.

Arrive in Bariloche and transfer to the hotel.

Day 16 Circuito Chico Adventure Tour.

Breakfast. Around 9:00 a.m. you will be collected at the hotel to go to Cerro Campanario to see one of the 10 best views in the world while enjoying delicious chocolates. The tour continues to the Llao Llao Municipal Forest where a 2 hour hike brings to you a hidden lake.

Next is Bahia Lopez, where at the end of a pleasant 40 minute walk you can take in the scenery from the Brazo Tristeza (Sadness Arm) viewpoint.

The day ends with a visit to a small town which was formerly Swiss colony before returning to your hotel.

Day 17 Excursion to Victoria Island and Myrtle Forest.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Puerto Pañuelo to embark on a full day tour to Victoria Island and Myrtle Forest.

Back to the hotel at the evening.

Day 18 Bariloche / Buenos Aires / Puerto Iguazu

Breakfast. Transfer to airport for flight to Puerto Iguazu (with a stop in Buenos Aires).

Upon arrival in Puerto Iguazu, you will be transferred to hotel where you will have the rest of the day free to enjoy the pool. In the evening you may visit the Three Borders Landmark, located in the tri-border area between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

Day 19 Puerto Iguazu / Excursion to Argentinian Falls

After breakfast, start the full day excursion with a trip to the Argentine side of Iguazu Falls. Explore the National Park by wandering its paths to take in the incredible views of 200 waterfalls. Lunch is at noon, after which you can take the optional Great Adventure tour that allows you to examine the falls up close, and even takes you underneath! In the afternoon, catch the train to the largest of the park's attractions, the Devil's Throat. In the afternoon you will be transferred to hotel.

Day 20 Puerto Iguazu / Excursion to Brazilian Falls / Buenos Aires

After breakfast, a half day excursion takes you to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls, where you will be treated to panoramic views of the falls visited the previous day. In the afternoon, you will be transferred in a regular service to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Transfer to hotel (private service).

Day 21 Buenos Aires

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your departure.
